Introduction to Freeform Knitting and Crochet
Introduction to Freeform Knitting and Crochet
Sunday 8 August 12n - 4pm
Even if you are a beginner at knitting or crochet, in this class you will be “doodling” and “scrumbling” to produce unique pieces of art from yarn. The possibilities are limitless in freeform knitting and crochet, and you will be using all of your creative skills to produce fibre artwork. We will be exploring techniques used by freeform crocheters such as Prudence Mapstone, James Walters, Sylvia Cosh, and Renate Kirkpatrick. There will be homework before the class and you will need to bring a hook and about 10 different yarns to work with. Once you enroll, complete instructions will be emailed to you. This will be a fun, casual class and you will be amazed at what you take home.
Who is this for?
The crocheter or knitter who is familiar with the basic stitches and wants to create something unique and different.

Public transport: the 51 bus (Cork/Galway) stops right in front of the Irish Fibre Crafters studio just about every hour, daily. Ardrahan train station (with occasional times) is a 5 minute drive from the studio, but it is a road with no good verge, so please let us bring you from/to the station rather than attempt the walk.
Driving? Irish Fibre Crafters is just 5 minutes off of the Ardrahan exit
