Fibre Fun Spinning Art Yarn

Are you the hand spinner who loves texture and colour and would like to expand your spinning techniques? Spinning art yarn is an exercise in playing with texture, colours, unusual materials, and non-traditional techniques.

In this workshop, you will explore using all types of materials, how to card “art batts” for your yarn and spinning thick and thins on purpose! You should go away with a yarn necklace that you have spun from waste fleece.

This course is not for the beginner spinner, but for the intermediate spinner who can control twist and has some plying experience. You will need to bring your own spinning wheel with a flyer orifice of at least ½ inch. The larger, the better. All other materials (fibre, locks, ribbon, etc.) will be provided, but if you have something you want to try, please bring it along.
