ACTIVITIES FOR AUTUMN 2021

Now that summer is almost at an end and school is about to start, I wanted to update you on recent activities here at Irish Fibre Crafters and what is planned for autumn.

Heritage Week 2021 was a big success all over the country. For our project, we held daily “taster” classes in order to show, share, and teach crafts which have been a part of Irish cultural heritage for generations. The classes were in natural dyeing, crochet, hand spinning, weaving, and felting, all using Irish wool. The classes were booked out each day and all the participants had fun as well as taking home lovely items that they had created. We will be doing a similar Heritage Week project next year.

For the autumn, I have scheduled several classes so far in September and October. Some are specifically for children, such as wet felting, and some are for adults who want to have fun and be creative, such as needle felted pumpkins. Plus, the ever popular hand spinning and natural dyeing classes are scheduled and on the website.

And with Christmas just around the corner, we will have special holiday classes scheduled for November and December.

So, I hope to see some of you soon and hope everyone of you are happily crafting!

Sandra
