Happy Christmas!!

Santas from a felting workshop

This will be the last newsletter for 2021. Although we did not open our doors due to Covid until May, looking back it seems we got a lot accomplished in half the year.

Thanks to all of our previous customers and to all of the new faces that have shown up to shop, learn, and show support.

During this year, we were able to teach classes in hand spinning, weaving, felting, both needle and wet, freeform crochet, and one of the natural dyeing workshops took place abroad, in North Carolina. We had classes for adults as well as children and had loads of fun in the process. Nearer to Christmas, Sandra Marschall taught needle felting Santas and wet felting Christmas trees. I have mine as decorations in the house and am enjoying them, proud that I made them myself from local wool. We were also able to teach the teachers, a short felting class consisting of Home Economics teachers. I must admit they were very good students. Here are some photos of the creativity going on in class:

I am looking forward to next year and am starting to think of ideas for new classes. In addition to the standard weaving, spinning, and dyeing, I am thinking about knitting and crocheted “Wild Tea Cosies”, Aran knitting techniques, basics of warping a loom, making Tenerife lace, and several felting classes for adults and children, creating sheep and even insects from wool. If you have any ideas or requests, please email me. I would love to hear what you think!

Meanwhile, enjoy your holidays and stay safe. See you in the New Year,

Sandra
