SUNDAY 6 JUNE 10a-4p all materials and equipment provided
Spinning is one of those traditional crafts that just seems to feed the soul. Once you get the hang of it, spinning is very relaxing and you can drift with the meditative-like flow, or have a chat whilst spinning— like so many of our ancestors did. The very basis of many of the fibre crafts, spinning is an extremely practical skill to have, and in this day workshop you will learn the basics of how to use a hand held drop spindle as well as the spinning wheel. You’ll be introduced to the fascinating variety of sheep’s wool we have here in Ireland, too.
Classes and workshops are limited in size, please book early to avoid disappointment
Materials are provided for all workshops and classes. Tea, coffee, biscuits provided, but you will need to bring your own lunch.
Deposits equal to half the price are essential in order to hold your place in these small workshops/classes. There is a deposit option as well as a full price option listed in the Workshops & Classes storefront. Please note that deposits are non-refundable.
Public transport: the 51 bus (Cork/Galway) stops right in front of the Irish Fibre Crafters studio just about every hour, daily. Ardrahan train station (with occasional times) is a 5 minute drive from the studio, but it is a road with no good verge, so please let us bring you from/to the station rather than attempt the walk.
Driving? Irish Fibre Crafters is just 5 minutes off of the Ardrahan exit
